Maths in View

This year the December meeting will be held in association with the University of Greenwich Department of Mathematical Sciences and is entitled Maths in View.  The purpose will be to look at the ways in which maths and specifically the history of maths have been portrayed in different media such as television, film and radio.

3.00 Peter Rowlett and Noel-Ann Bradshaw on “The perils of recording podcasts on history of maths for a modern day generation”
3.30 Panel Discussion: Chaired by Raymond Flood.

There is NO fee for the meeting, but to help with administration we would ask you to indicate if you are planning to attend by returning the registration form to: Noel-Ann Bradshaw, Department of Mathematical Sciences, University of Greenwich, Old Royal Naval College, Park Row, London SE10 9LS by Friday 30th November 2008, or fax it to (+44) (0) 20 8331 8665, making sure that Noel-Ann’s name is clearly marked. 

Please note that lunch will not be provided but here is a list of local eating places.  We expect the meeting to be fully booked so advance booking is required.

Travel directions are available here, and here is a street map showing the venue. There is not much free parking available in Greenwich, but there is some at the end of Vanbrugh Park on the far side (SE) of Greenwich Park, 15 minutes walk away.
