The context for your project needs to be clarified for the uninitiated - A star heuristic search is a topic on the A level computer science syllabi, I presume. Some good material for your theme in the abstract, but (as the previous remark indicates) the organisation of the ideas is a little loose and confusing. (For instance. the last four sentences seem to flit between 'developing educational software' and 'understanding A star' without clarifying whether EM is being applied to the development of educational software that assists understanding of A star search or whether you are concerned with the role of A star search in developing educational software etc.

In describing your model, you have focused on the intended functionalities, which can present some dangers where the model development itself is concerned. You will need to be careful to focus on the 'model-building as construal' concept. For your specific problem area, you may find it helpful to look at the Great Game of Britain model ( wmb/public/projects/games/GGB).

There are some other EM references by / co-authored by Chris Roe (including his PhD thesis) that might be of interest. Am also intending to make the recent paper on Computer Support for Constructionism in Context available.

I don't know how 'A star' and 'A level' are usually denoted, but some way of disambiguating 'A' from 'A' plain and simple (e.g. using hyphenation) would perhaps be helpful.
