| Computer Systems Engineering (CSE)(Official) IntroductionComputer Systems Engineering (BEng/BSc) is a 3-year full-time course taught by the Department of Computer Science and the School of Engineering. Though it is tempting to think of computers in terms of a general-purpose machine that sits on a desktop, this represents only one of their many uses. Most computers are used as components within engineering systems such as cars, mobile phones, domestic equipment and industrial machines. In order to be able to design such computer systems an engineer needs a good knowledge of computer hardware and software, but also needs to understand the engineering systems involved. The Computer Systems Engineering course (CSE) provides this breadth of coverage. This course combines study of both the hardware and software aspects of computers, with study of the engineering systems in which they are used. The BEng/BSc course enjoys full British Computer Society (BCS) exemption and accreditation by the Institution of Electrical Engineers (IEE). Lists of modules (BSc/BEng)
Note: A MEng CSE degree was also available. It lasts 4 years and offers more flexibility. CommentsYou possibly know that Computer Systems Engineering (CSE), introduced by the late 1970s, is being discontinued at Warwick. This was a surprise to me as a number of US universities introduced new "Computer Engineering" (or similar names) course not long ago. Moreover, most Computer Science (or Electrical Engineering) courses in the US are administrated by faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). Just in case that all CSE pages are removed from web, here stores everything about my degree. There is going to be a new Honours course, Computing Systems, to replace CSE in Department of Computer Science. Please read the latest admissions news!
