Introduction

This is the first draft version of Java Notes. It consists of 2 parts. The first part deals with Object-oriented programming with Java. The second part deals with the use of threads in Java programming. There is also a discussion of Java RMI, epecially from the point of view of its specification and use.

Apart from minor changes the examples are taken from the books which have been listed in the References. The copyright notices are all included with the texts of the programs. All these programs have been tested on Solaris 2.6 version of JDK 1.2.1

It is hoped that more appropriate examples will replace these examples in later versions of these notes.
